O Lazy Web
I finished the bill paying, the spreadsheets, the erranding, and other piddly stuff. This means the decks have been cleared enough that I can get to work on creating my Comp I course packet. I've been working with the theme of exploring Identity in the South, and was happy to see that Clancy over at Culture Cat is working on sort of the same thing, but not exactly.
The problem I'm running into is predictable: it's easy enough to find material out the wazoo that deals with African-American/Caucasian and male/female identity issues in this part of the country. I want to find material that explores other ethnic and religious identities as well: I know Jewish, Vietnamese, and Hispanic Southerners, and there are a host of other folks besides. The difficulty is in finding course material that addresses these communities. I'm open to literature and films as well as essays, so please feel free to comment with any suggestions you might have.

I have no clue but when I had lunch with my friend from UA the other day, she mentioned that they're heavy on a southern lit program they have going. (You may be aware of this, but I was not.) You might check out what they have online. I don't personally know anyone else up there.
