Golly
Not being folks who ever do anything in a normal fashion, we actually had two first choices when we applied to PhD programs last month. We figured out that we had a less than 1% chance of both of us getting into the more competitive choice and a slightly better chance at the other one. Since it was important to us to attend the same school, there was a corresponding 99.2% chance of nervousness in our house.
We found out today that we were both accepted by both programs.
