I keep wondering when the feminist area of your brain is going to start questioning these endorsements of typical mythical women, but then I figure you've thought about it and knowing you, probably already blogged it thoroughly and quite lurvly, and I'm probably being an underappreciative stick in the mud who can't see past my own regrets not to strike such a luscious and sumptuous pose, either in or out of reality.
As I've said before, the Redhead Project is about examination, not endorsement. I'm interested in how these pinups portray cultural notions of feminity and women's sexuality. And frankly, I'm offended by strains of feminism that insist it's a Bad Bad Thing for a woman to look like this. Feminism is about the freedom to make choices, and it's nobody's business if I choose to look like a sexpot one day and a sweatpants girl or butch dyke the next.
