world enough, and time

Michelle and I met four years ago in an undergrad Expository Writing course, and have been friends ever since. (Plus, she was my first blogeny!) At the beginning of this semester, my last in Arkansas, we vowed to have lunch every other week. That promise didn't go so well - the last time we saw each other was in January, and that's been almost totally my fault for being holed up with the thesis when I wasn't gallivanting around.
Friday, though, we went to Capers and had a three-hour, three-course lunch. And it was fabulous. We talked about everything in the entire world and ate sammiches and were very happy. Afterwards, she made me put on my graduation regalia in the parking lot so she could take pictures of me, and we conned an innocent bystander into taking a picture of us.
Michelle e-mailed me later and said, "It's super to spend nearly three hours talking to someone and feel that you're still breaking off the conversation when you leave." I agree. What will I do without you next year, Michelle?

Well, you nearly made me cry. Thought you were going to write the funny post about the hood and gown business so I wasn't prepared. I'll miss you, man, but it *is* a big world out there and you deserve a fat piece of it.

Aaaaawww!!!! Well, we will be getting together in a couple of days (or is it tomorrow? LOL), and I'm looking forward to it, but Michelle, I wish you could be there too.

That's sweet of you to say, Clancy. My husband gets pretty crabby during *our* winters, though. ;)
And here's the link to Capers' website which does have links for all applicable menus, a very important feature. Yum. http://www.capersrestaurant.com/
