grad school is great! grad school sucks!
Why it's great: This afternoon, I saw Ed Schiappa lecture on parasocial contact, audience analysis, and Will and Grace. This is someone whose work on classical rhetoric and argumentation I've read for years, and I got to see him talk about sitcoms. I could never in a million years make this stuff up. He was clear, thoughtful and funny.
Why it sucks: I have absolutely no time to write about it right now. Or even soon.

Thanks. It gets a little easier every week (although I live in terror of having to complete three seminar papers here pretty shortly.)
And doesn't Buber rock? (Dorothea was right about that.) We're reading him for Ethics.
