infringement

In copyright law class, we're doing prima facie infringement suits - particularly as it pertains to music cases.

This means that yesterday morning was Michael Bolton v 3 Boys Music, which involved "Love Is a Wonderful Thing." This morning is Whitney Houston and her campaign to copyright the crescendo in her arrangement of "I Will Always Love You." We listen to both versions of the songs repeatedly in class in order to pick out the replicated bits and establish appropriation.

Michael Bolton and Whitney Houston. On repeat. At 10:00 in the morning. Oh, the humanity.

Comments

Dude. That is so unfair.
