Y'know, I seriously considered renting a similar retreat space this past summer for dissertating...and I really really really wish I'd done it. Now I'd have to put it in our building's back garden. Not sure the grounds committee would approve. Maybe if I told 'em they could have it as a garden shed when I'm done?

I love the idea, but I have a feeling that having everything so nearby would make me increasingly LESS active, if that's possible.

Perhaps you will also write about nature, which will lead to your manifesto? I wouldn't mind reading another Walden.
