lakefront property

So it rained all day yesterday and then all night — several days worth all at once. There were flooding advisories when I went to bed last night, and I woke up this morning to find that the section of road in front of our building had become a lake. We live between two rather mild hills, and all the runoff is down here with us. The water is up over the sidewalks and a good ten feet into some of the drives. No damage done, though, and it looks like it’ll be fairly easy to circumvent on the way to school.

More storms are forecast for today, so it looks like this will be a problem for at least a couple of days.

Update: The geese are swimming in the test fields. (Did I mention I teach on an agricultural campus?)
