best day in a while
Yesterday, I had a wonderful, meandering conversation over breakfast with a friend who’s a fellow IP geek, and then we headed over to the Law School to hear Jessica Litman give a talk on user-side definitions in copyright. This means that I got to see Litman, Ruth Okediji, Dan Burk, and a number of other extraordinarily smart IP and First Amendment scholars all in the same room, and all debating varied approaches to US fair use doctrine. Profs Okediji and Burk were kind enough to introduce us to Litman afterwards, and she signed my copy of Digital Copyright.
Later on, I had a deep-tissue massage (very deep — I still feel kinda pummelled) and then came home to eat stir-fry and watch movies with Mister Husband. Worked on cross-stitch awhile, since I’ve felt the need to take that up again lately.
Today, I’ve been catching up on email and grading all morning. Another friend is coming in a few minutes, and we’re going to lunch and then to the deep, dark periodical basement on the other campus. Can’t wait, since I haven’t had the chance to see her since early October. Then back here for more grading. Because, as you all know, the grading never ends.
