  • hot, sweet chai tea
  • fuzzy slippers
  • crisp books
  • reading the crisp books in front of a fireplace
  • fresh flowers, particularly peonies or zinnias or tulips or spider mums
  • back rubs
  • peaches, and the process of slipping them out of their skins
  • that sudden skin thaw that occurs when you come inside out of the cold and all the blood rushes back to your hands and cheeks
  • a big yellow or blue bowl of chili with cheese
  • word geeks
  • clean, snuggly dogs
  • being tucked in
  • heirloom quilts
  • long summer car trips with loud music
  • warm, scented sheets straight from the dryer
  • perfectly crisp fish and chips
  • sturdy husbands with long hair
  • snuggling with aforementioned
  • ponds or aquariums of wiggly, colorful fish or sea critters
  • proper pulled barbeque and slaw
  • spanish moss
  • overhanging trees along a bayou
  • fall leaves
  • spring dirt, when it’s first being turned
  • snow drifts
  • driving around with old HVAC guys, listening to them point out units on every building in town and recount the history thereof
