Mo Sno

I see in my archives that there was a mini-blizzard on April 27 last year, but I don’t remember a big March dump (March Mess, the weatherguy calls it). We’ve gotten another 8 inches or so since about eight o'clock last night, and it’s not done yet.

What’s surprising to me is the fact that I’m not particularly surprised. I guess I’m getting Minnesota Mentality, I don’t know. I’m not so used to it that I don’t remember that it only snowed once after my birthday in Arkansas. I remember because I was having my 7th or 8th birthday slumber party on a Friday that fell a few days after my birthday. We all woke up to snow the next morning and snuck out of the house and into the woods to look for Snow Bears. (I have no idea what a Snow Bear would be, or what we would have done with one had we found it, but we were pretty sure about them at the time.) A gaggle of little girls tramping around in the woods, not a one of whom had bothered to tell my parents where we were going, and armed with all manner of sundry, mostly harmless devices. My dad eventually came tromping out to corral us. He and I still joke about it all these years later.
