sleep/less
I love to sleep. I’m good it, and dedicated. If this Ph.D. was in sleeping, I’d be done by now.
It occurred to me on the ride home that I have never pulled an all-nighter. Not once during the coursework for two bachelors, a masters, and a doctorate. There were some late nights, sure, but not past 1 or 2 a.m. I have stayed up all night in the service of fun and insomnia, but never for school. Or any job, for that matter.
I wonder if this is normal? And if I’ve missed out on some central experience of youthful education? (If so, no matter. More sleep is preferable, I think.)

All-nighters are evil and they screw your nights and days up for a week.
What I'd do is work until midnight, 1, or 2, take a "nap" until 4 or 5, then get up with a "fresh" perspective.
Later, an afternoon nap would help with the sleepiness, then an early bed time would set all to rights.

Even when I tried the all-nighters, at some point I would realize that I'd be better off sleeping, but then it would be too late: I'd be on No-Doz and Coca Cola overload.
Sleep is heavenly. One challenge: I actually do get more done if I write in the morning. So, how to actually get myself out of the bed and to the coffee shop to start writing? Hmmm... Oh, houseboy?
