Whilst repotting the carnivores this afternoon, it occured to me to wonder whatever happened to the group of us that made my world go 'round during my first trip through college. Google reveals:

• Two of us are producers in LA. One on very minor reality shows, one on America's Next Top Model. The second one is also a stylist and screenwriter.
• One of us is studying psychology and working as an office manager in San Francisco.
• One of us still lives in Arkansas and recently married. She doesn't maintain a web presence apart from her wedding announcements.
• Two of us are eternal graduate students. (Me, and the other one working on a degree in Divinity at Columbia.) The one who is not me lived in Paris, Burkina Faso, and Tokyo before moving to New York.

And in a different circle:

• One still works at my old University, just like she has for the past 10 years. She keeps moving up in the ranks of the International Studies group.
• The two skater punks married and became born-again, home-schooling Christians. She’s still a housewife, and recently published a children’s book on loving the body God gave you. He’s getting his degree from University of Phoenix.

Could I have predicted all this ten years ago? Yes and no. I couldn't have told you exactly, but none of it surprises me except the last couple, and they've been surprising me all this time.
