decisions, decisions
Lunch today was Vietnamese and City Pages, the local kulture rag. Turns out there’s a ton of excellent music coming up here in the Twin Cities. I haven’t really been taking advantage of the opportunities to see good acts during my coursework, so I’m determined to milk the next couple of years. (Who knows where we’ll end up where we get jobs, after all?)
Time and money will limit my ambitions, of course. This is the list of stuff I would really go to, which doesn’t even count the stuff that just sounds interesting. Who here is a must-see, O Talented and Tasteful Readers?
8/24 - The Flaming Lips, Sonic Youth and The Magic Numbers (definitely)
8/26 - Bonnie Raitt with Keb’ Mo’ (most likely)
9/2 - Cat Power (still waffling)
9/9 - Al Green, also Taj Mahal & The Trio
9/25 - The Melvins with Big Business
9/28 - Calexico
11/12 - The Decemberists with Alasdair Roberts (sort of bad timing, since it’s right before NCA)

That's my vote for Bonnie Raitt and Keb Mo--she's amazing, and I saw him a few years back when Susan Tedeschi was opening for him (I really just went to see her), and he was really cool.
