When I started my Master’s, I intended to write nonfiction. And at the beginning of this blog, I wrote quite a few short nonfiction pieces. As grad school progressed and I moved across the country, it’s evolved into mostly rants and filings coupled with news for farflung friends and family.

I miss those short little pieces. As an exercise for getting back into that sort of groove on a regular basis, I’m commencing Thinkery Totem Saturdays (admittedly inspired by Favorite Things Saturday.) Once each week for the next couple of months, I’ll write about a totem object in my study and how it came to be here. We’ll see how far I can get with each one.
