So I survived the end of the semester (and preserved the 4.0, w00t!), but then I decided to get involved with this week-long seminar on integrating audio and video into WebCT*. And it was 9 – 4 every day. And I conned Mister Boyfriend into coming along too, since he’s teaching online in the fall. Like to killed both of us, but we made a nice 8-minute lesson presentation on Creative Commons that has PowerPoint and a scrolling script and Lovely Me as a talking head. But I didn’t sleep much or blog at all during the whole thing. It turned out well, though – the WebCT office wants to use it as part of the core lesson package they’re developing, and the Vice Chancellor for Technology asked for a copy of it.
We were going to attend the Department Party last night, but decided to stay in and away from the massive thunderstorm and various tornados. So I made banana pudding** and we stood in front of the apartment and watched the clouds rotating directly overhead. One might be amazed that two ostensibly intelligent people would do this for so long before deciding that it might possibly behoove them to go inside.
So anyway, everything is done and we haven’t blown away. I have no departmental obligations for 10 days, and am therefore on total strike. Today is Girly Day. I slept late, and then spent two hours reading all the blogs I got behind on this week. I am going to take a l-o-n-g bath, and tweeze the eyebrows before I turn into a total wookie. I am going to dye my hair, because my redheadedness has faded. And I am going to watch girly films and paint my toes tonight. And probably blog.
*Which effectively extended the semester from 16 to 17 weeks. And that extra week was about two weeks too much.
**This would be the same banana pudding that I went shopping to get ingredients for on Thursday night. I came home with bananas, Nilla Wafers, whipped cream, and milk – and that’s it. Totally forgot to buy any pudding.

Is that what you call a 4.0 Brain going bad?
