Since I last posted in mid-summer, we’ve become homeowners, moved to the northeast, and adopted a cat. I started a new job. We’ve met wonderful new people and are missing fabulous old ones. All kinds of good things happened, along with some the usual amount of moderately annoying things — among which was a small implosion in my MovableType install. I was somehow removed as the author of Thinkery, and consequently had no way to access the backend at all. Thankfully, Himmer still had limited access leftover from his redesign of the templates, and so he managed to extract a full backup and send it to me. He’s awesome that way.
Since the semester’s rolling along enough now for me to have some semblance of a routine, it must be time to begin what will probably be a slow process of piecing things back together here. The first step, clearly, is a shiny-new WordPress installation. I have a recharged battery in my camera. I have some stuff to say. And I really missed knowing people through blogging, both because some friends only read me here, and because it’s just so different from the abbreviated interactions of Twitter and Facebook.
