This one really troubles me, more than any of the others have, because of the subject's awareness of the 'camera eye'. I'm not sure if that's because it's such an inherently private moment depicted, or that the text suggests that the voyeur is also the beau being primped for. It feels almost schizophrenic in the way it asks the viewer to be complicit with the voyeurism at the same time it suggests we're waiting for something yet to occur, something that will surprise us even though we're watching the transformation occur.
